COVID-19 Relief

The situation is overwhelming but let that not prevent each one from doing their bit. #EachOneReachOne

The service of our country is the service of the Lord of Lords and devotion to the people is the devotion to the Supreme Self.

– Swami Chinmayananda

#EachOneReachOne

A request to all Chinmaya Mission members across the world to offer service in whichever way possible. That could be financially, through sharing of vital information, through mobilising of contacts and other resources, or even through prayer and a positive and proactive approach. A difference is made even by the smallest of good deeds made with the right intention. Join the global effort.

Our Work

Life-Saving Medical & Protective Equipment for Hospitals

Chinmaya Mission supports the efforts of government and private hospitals across the country. We donate essential diagnostic and life-saving equipment like oxygen concentrators, pulse oximeters, oxygen masks, digital blood pressure monitors, ECG machines, glucometers, nasal cannula and insulin syringes. We also provide protective gear like PPE kids, gowns, masks, thermal scanners, gloves and hand sanitizer, for medical staff to continue the fight on the frontlines.

Chinmaya Organization For Rural Development (CORD)

Approximately 65% of India’s population lives in villages. The Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development (CORD) facilitates integrated, participatory and sustainable rural development in villages of Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh through guidance, funding and monitoring. During the Covid-19 pandemic, CORD is making people in rural communities aware of the importance of following safety precautions, surveillance, implementation of required action and monitoring of the situation.

Education

Since the onset of the pandemic, there has been a huge impact on Education. 16 of the 90+ educational institutes run by Chinmaya Mission are in rural parts of the country and have found it extremely difficult to stay afloat. With so many parents losing their sources of income, paying fees has been a challenge, and that has resulted in many Chinmaya Vidyalayas only being able to pay a small percentage of salaries to teachers. The schools must also be equipped with sanitation facilities so that they can reopen in a safe manner when permitted by the government.

Chinmaya Diagnostic Centre, Mumbai

Chinmaya Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Chembur, Mumbai, is a charitable diagnostic centre run by Central Chinmaya Mission Trust (CCMT), in service of society. The objective of CDC is to provide quality and humane medical care at an affordable cost to needy sections of society. CDC provides a platform for members of the medical fraternity to volunteer their specialised services as an offering to the people and to help poor people receive specialised medical consultation and treatment. CDC has catered to over 4 million patients. The diagnostic centre has been continuing its services throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, with full precautions in place, in spite of it being very challenging, both financially and logistically. CDC requires protective gear for medical and non-medical volunteers to continue frontline service to the needy.
